a single helix is a lonely helix

The bridges that you cross before you come to them are over rivers that aren't there.
~ Gene Brown

Life is a comedy to those who think, a tragedy to those who feel.

in a world of green

The world's a forest, in which all lose their way;
though by a different path each goes astray.
~ George Villiers

blue helix

I have crossed a thousand bridges
In my search for something real
There were great suspension bridges
Made like spider webs of steel
There were tinny wooden trestles
And there were bridges made of stone
I have always been a stranger and

I've always been alone.

a steel giant among us

Architecture is the learned game, correct and magnificent, of forms assembled in the light.

[hiatus end - 2011.04.10]

the past month has been different.

i had a bit more time, because admittedly this blogging business does suck up time.
also, i had picked up four new video games (assassin's creed 2, demon's souls, nba 2k11, and dante's inferno, for those who are curious) and those have quickly eaten up whatever time my hiatus had freed up.

i've also gone on trips and photo walks (i had gone on a blogging hiatus, not a picture-taking hiatus) and now am up to my nose in unprocessed pictures.  they can pile up really quick.

japan is still struggling and i try to keep myself updated with news of what is happening.  there was a massive aftershock just a few days back, but that thankfully caused minimal damage.

for a country i have never visited, i certainly am affected by their struggles.  certainly, their situation is desperate, but they have not been in despair.

i have come to admire their resilience, fortitude, and discipline.  it is amazing how they cope with a devastation of this scale and magnitude such with poise and grace: i have not heard of any news of looting or riots.

i am in awe of the fukushima fifty: their heroism truly is admirable.

i think, i hope japan is getting better.  i know they're not okay yet.  but they are getting better.

ganbatte, japan.  may your road to recovery be swift and steady.

(p.s. probably no vacation pics just yet.  but possibly a few pictures every now and then)
